TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The Tom Derzypolski for Tallahassee City Commission, Seat 3 campaign today announced it has raised $60,122.34 in its first campaign finance report. The total makes Derzypolski the leading fundraiser in the Seat 3 race, despite his late entry.
Derzypolski filed to six months after other candidates in the field, and the first-quarter report reflects only weeks of active fundraising. Even on that compressed schedule, the campaign out-raised every other candidate in the contest.
“The response we’ve seen in such a short time has been humbling,” said Derzypolski. “Like me, neighbors across Tallahassee are watching a government that feels out of step with our community, and they’re ready for something better. This support tells me people are hungry for civility, transparency, and experienced leadership at city hall. I’m grateful for the energized welcome I’ve received from this community, and I’m ready to get to work.”
A U.S. Navy veteran, Florida State University graduate, and co-founder and president of BowStern, Derzypolski has spent more than two decades building a business and serving the Tallahassee community. He has held board leadership roles with the American Red Cross, Goodwill Industries, DISC Village, Tallahassee State College Foundation, Winthrop Park, the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra, and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He and his wife, Stephanie Montford Derzypolski, are celebrating 20 years of marriage and are the proud parents of three children and grandparents of two.
Tallahassee residents are encouraged to vote for local candidates August 18, 2026. If a candidate does not receive over 50% of the votes, the top two candidates move onto the General Election in November. Derzypolski is encouraging city residents to learn more about his campaign, and to vote in August.
