Derzypolski expressed his appreciation to the voters who supported his campaign and emphasized the importance of every ballot in a race decided by a narrow margin.
“I’m deeply grateful to every voter who showed up, cast a ballot, and placed their trust in me,” Derzypolski said. “A margin this close is a powerful reminder that every single vote matters. I also want to thank Supervisor Earley and his team for conducting a careful, transparent, and thorough recount process.”
Derzypolski also recognized fellow candidate Talethia Edwards for her campaign and her commitment to public service.
“Talethia ran with integrity, transparency, courage – and steadfastly focused on the people of Tallahassee,” Derzypolski said. “I have tremendous respect for her and Tallahassee is better because Talethia brought her voice and her vision into this race. I intend to remain connected with her and make sure her voice continues to be heard loud and clear at City Hall.”
With the recount complete, Derzypolski said his campaign is turning its full attention to the November runoff and to earning the support of voters across the district.
“This campaign was never just about August. It has always been about earning the confidence of this entire community and delivering the kind of leadership Tallahassee deserves,” Derzypolski said. “The real work starts now. I’m ready to keep listening, keep showing up, and keep making the case for a city government that is accountable, responsible, and focused on the people it serves.”
Derzypolski said the runoff campaign will focus on the issues that matter most to residents, including affordability, responsible city governance, transparency, accountability, and rebuilding trust at City Hall.
“We have a clear choice ahead of us, and I’m looking forward to having that conversation with voters,” Derzypolski said. “I’m asking for the opportunity to earn their support—not just with words, but by listening to their concerns and working every day to deliver results for Tallahassee.”
